Study on the extraction of tannin and its cationic modification

Tannin has been extracted from acer truneatum bunge with the mixed solvent of acetone/water and its cationic modification has been carried on with formaldehyde,dimethylamine and chlorbenzyl.It is found that the best condition of extraction of tannin from acer truneatum bunge is at 55 ℃,the volume ratio of water and acetone is 1:0.5.The cationic tannin(CTN) has been obtained by Mannich reaction of tannin with formaldehyde,and dimethylamine and chlorbenzyl.The Mannich reaction temperature is 85 ℃,pH = 6.0,reaction time is 2 h.The mass ratio of tannin,dimethylamine and formaldehyde is 1:1.5:1.In quaterisation of Mannich reaction product,the mass ratio of Mannich reaction product and chlorbenzyl is 1:0.8,the reaction temperature is 90 ℃ and the reaction time is 2 h.The experimental results show that the cationic tannin has a great capability of inhibiting scale and corrosion.
