Study of highly concentrated organic wastewater treatment by electrolysis and oxidation

Highly concentrated organic wasewater is seriously harmful to the environment,and very hard to be treated. The three dimensional electrode electrolysis that has mainly been used and assisted with oxidation for its treatment is introduced. The fluidized bed is used as the reaction system for the electrolysis and oxidation process. Suitable particles are used as carriers on the fluidized bed. The mass transfer rate of iron(Ⅲ) at the cathode is improved greatly. This makes the electrolysis and Fenton oxidation process have cooperativity and as a result improve the treatment effect greatly. The COD removal rate of the wastewater can be higher than 98% by using the electrolysis and oxidation technology.
