SYNTHESIS AND PERFORMANCE OF A NEW FLOCCULANT POLYFERRIC CHLORIDE PHOSPHATE

In this paper, a study on preparing a new flocculant—polyferric chloride phosphate (PPFC) is reported. The effect of PPFC compared with PFC in the treatment of “model” water and industrial waste water was investigated in a series of coagulation jar tests. The perfermance of PPFC was found to be superior to PFC in the removal of COD and turbidity, which indicate that PO 4 3- improves PFC polymerization and its coagulation properties.
