Production and Properties of Thermostable Lipase by Rhizopus sp.

Jin Qirong, Xu Ganrong, Zhou Yisheng(Department of Fermentation Technology, Wuxi Institute of Light Industry, Wuxi)  
Rhizopus sp. A-7 producing a thermostable lipase was isolated from medium with the hydrogenated oil as sole carbon source. The strain grew well in the medium containing 0.5% (NH4)2SO4, 3% corn steep liquor, 1% hydrogenated oil, 0.1% KH2PO4, 0.05% MgSO4 · 7H2O, with malt sprut as support substrat. The optimal pH and temperature of the lipase was 7.2 and 58°C, respec tively. The yield of lipase was maximum at 36°C after 42 hrs, reaching 147 u/g (solid medium, dry weight).
