The primary study on the screening of alkaline endurable cellulase from a fungus and its enzymatic properties

CHEN Guan jun, DU Zong jun, GAO Pei ji (The State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology, Shandong University, Jinan 250100)  
Twenty four strains of fungi producing cellulases were isolated from alkaline soil on the site of paper mill. One of them being identified as Stachybotrys atra was chosen to be further studied because its cellulases had good endurance in alkaline condition. The optimum pHs of the FPase, CMCase and β-glucosidase activities in the crude enzyme were 6.0, 6.0 and 6.5 respectively. More than 50% of endoglucanase (CMCase) activity could be obtained at pH 9.0. The results showed that the cellulase from the strain has high pH and temperature stabilities.
