XU Ya,et al (Henan Medical University,The 3rd Affiliated Hospital,Zhengzhou 450052,China)
To explore the reproductive effects in female workers exposed to organophosphorus insecticides, the reproductive functions including irregular menstruation and abnormal reproductive outcome of 264 exposed workers and 116 unexposed female workers were investigated with occupational epidemiological method. The results showed that the incidences of distending pain of the breast, somnolence, insomnia, fatigue at premenorrhea phase and irregular menstruation were significantly higher in exposed workers than those in unexposed workers.Among them, hypomenorrhea is most distinctive, however,no linear relationship was found between the abnormality of menstruation and the working age.The abnormal reproductive outcome was also significantly higher in exposed group than that of the control. It suggested that organophosphorus insecticides could induce adverse effects on female workers reproductive functions.
