The Rule of Phases Changing in Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate(SDS)/Cyclohexane/N-Butanol/Water System

GUI Ming-sheng,DONG Jun(Department of Chemistry,College of Science,Guizhou University,Guiyang 550025,China)
Based on the measurement of the electrical conductance of the system,it was observed that during the dilution of the system with water, the micro-structure of the system transforms from W/O to bicontinuous phase, and o/W subsequently.Phase diagrams of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)/n-butanol/cyclohexane/water microemulsion system with different W(ratio of water to SDS)at 25℃ were established. The appropriate mass fraction for the formation of microemulsion are/n-butanol 20%-60% and cyclohexane 0-80%.The system can form W/O mono-phase microemulsion region of rather wide range at room temperature. The impact of W on the area and position of miememulsion region is not significant;Phase diagrams of microemulsion system with different temperature at W=20 were established. It shows that microemulsion region have a large impact of temperature and run away the S phase,At this time increased n-butano consumption contribute to the formation of microemulsion.
