Research on Antibacterial Property of Nanometer TiO_2 on the Surface of Solids

The antibacterial property of nanometer TiO_2 spray on solids surface was carried out with the MR-VP method for counting the amounts of bacteria. Paper and ceramic tile were coated by the spray and used for antibacterial test. The results demonstrated that the TiO_2 nanometer spray and its composite samples had very good disinfection for E. coli, which can reach to 100%. The ceramic tile coated by the spray and treated under 600℃ bad good ability to disinfect bacterium. Therefore, the nanometer TiO_2 can be used on the solid surface for antibacterial utilization.
