Adsorption Behaviour of RhB in Equeous Solution on Chitosan Modified Bentonite

Dyestuff wastewater was a kind of the industrial wastewater,which was the mainly harmful one in our coun-try.Chitosan modified bentonite was used as an adsorbent to treat RhB from aqueous solution at various contact time,initial pH and temperature.Modified by chitosan' it made bentonite more effectively to adsorb RhB than the original soil.The re-sults showed that adsorption optimum was pH 6 and absorption capacity increased with the increase of temperature.The ad-sorption process was spontaneous,endothermic by calculating thermodynamic parameters ΔG0,ΔH0 and ΔS0 in different temperatures.The experimental data indicated that the adsorption followed Langmuir isotherm model better,and this adsorp-tion kinetics met the pseudo-second-order reaction model.
