Preparation of Modified Graphene and Its Electrochemical Application in Simultaneous Determination of Catechol and Hydroquinone

Grapheme modified electrode was fabricated firstly via synthesizing highly ordered MnO_2 nanorod arrays on grapheme film,using a simple and controllable electrochemical technique. Then the modified electrode was immersed into4% oxalic acid to remove MnO_2,a new modified electrode was obtained. The electrochemical oxidation of hydroquinone( HQ),catechol( CT),was investigated using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry at the modified electrode. It was found that the separations of the oxidation peak potential and restore peak potential were 105 mV and 122 mV between HQ and CT,respectively,which can be used for both selective and simultaneous determination of HQ and CT.
