Wang Shuo Phenomenon: The Dissolution of Grand Narration and the Rising of Popular Literature/Culture

WANG Xiao chu (Scientific Research Department,Chongqing Three Gorges College,Chongqing,Wanzhou 404000,China)
In the mid and late 1980s,Contrary to the loss of sensational effect of literature, Wang Shuo phenomenon completely dissolves such deep values as enlightenment, ideal, and nobility by means of ridiculing and mocking the main stream discourse. It also challenges elite"written language"with the characteristics of stiffness, dullness, and monotony by the use of broken, mixed, and absurd"rascal language".Accordingly,it is in conformity to the popular culture/literature,and marks the road sign of reconstructing Chinese culture/literature.
