The structure characteristics and the optical properties of the multiple cavities Fabry-Perot narrow-bandpass interference filters,usually be used in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) communication system,have been analyzed in this paper.The authors have proposed the auto design method for this type of coating by optimization through a reasonable merit.A programmer has been designed which can auto search the film-system structures of a multiple cavities Fabry-Perot narrow-band-pass interference filter which has low ripple and cut-off bandpass.The design result of this programmer can meet the requirements of the optical filters that served as a MUX/DMUX in WDM transmission system.
