An Infrared Diffractive/Refractive Optical system beyond Normal Temperature

An athermal infrared refractive/diffractive optical system has been designed. In this system, only two materials of Silicon and Germanium are used. The results show that the hybrid system possesses better athermal performances and can correct the chromatic aberration effectively. The image quality of the system achieves diffractive limit at the temperature ranging from -80~200℃. In addition, the system has a compact structure with lightweight.
