A One-dimensional Photonic Crystal Structure with a Large Absolute Band Gap

A photonic crystal structure with optical thickness′ distribution according to a circular function is presented. This structure displays a wide band-gap. The influences of the beginning , ending layers and the optical thickness to the photonic crystal bandgaps are discussed. Optimization of a broad band reflector is also suggested.
