The Optimization and Design of Ultra-broad-bandwidth LiNbO_3 Electro-optic Modulator with a New Structure

A new structure with both ridge waveguide and T-type electrode is given to enhance the bandwidth of electro-optic modulator.After calculating and optimizing by the finite-element method,as an example,an excellent modulator,whose bandwidth is 153 GHz,half wave voltage is 8.55 V,characteristic impedance is 44 Ω and driving power is 0.833 W is designed.
