Ultrashort Soliton Pulse Train Generation and Amplification in an Erbium-Doped Nonlinear Amplifying Fiber Loop Mirror

A novel method,which can lead to generation of high-quality ultrashort soliton pulse train from a dual frequency weak beat signal,was proposed.It is based on a gain-distributed erbium-doped nonlinear amplifying fiber loop mirror.Numerical simulations show that it also can work using reasonable loop lengths when the repetition rates 20 GHz. Our research results also show that loop lengths will be shorter as the average power of the input signal is higher.The repletion rates limitation problem caused by conventional techniques can be conquered by the proposed method.Furthermore,it can transform the weak signal into ultrashort soliton pulse train without using special fibers.
