Analyze on Sine Wave and Rectangular Wave Magneto-optical Modulation by Comparing

Based on the principle of sine magneto-optical modulation, by using Lissajous figure method, the sine wave magneto-optical modulation and the rectangular wave magneto-optical modulation were modeled by computer. The modeling shown us that sine wave magneto-optical modulation has basic properties described by its principle, and its precision can reach 0. 001°in polarization measuring; and that rectangular wave magneto-optical modulation has more excellent properties in application, such as there is no problem of signal distortion in it, itsθt0 won't limited by small angle condition, and its precision would exceed 0. 001°in polarization measuring. The contrastive experiments about these two magneto-optical modulations supported above conclusion. It was shown that rectangular wave magneto-optical modulation possesses particular advantage whether be used in signal managing or be used in polarization measuring, and it will have a fine prospect in application. The amplitude limited effect in these two magneto-optical modulation was found in experiment and was analyzed tentatively.
