Experimental Study on Fluorescence Detection of Cold Cs Atoms Using Phase-lock Detection Technology

The phase-lock detection of cold Cs atoms' fluorescence is provided by modulating the frequency of trapping beams in a MOT. The SNR of fluorescence signal is 52 times as much as the direct detection. The relationship between SNR of fluorescence spectrum and demodulation parameters is studied. When the best experimental demodulation parameters S and T are found with S=1 mV, T=1 s, the best SNR is 204.
