Liquid Crystal Adaptive Optics System to Compensate Turbulence in Collimator

Based on liquid crystal adaptive optics system,a demonstration system is presented which includes a Hartmann sensor as a wave-front sensor and a LCOS liquid crystal device as a wave-front corrector works in a closed-loop configuration.The wave-front error in PV decreases from 1.02λ to 0.37λ(λ=633 nm) when the loop is closed.The image quality improves obviously.The modulation transfer function of the whole system increases from nearly 10 lp/mm to over 50 lp/mm after wave-front correction. Furthermore, some schemes have been pointed out to make this system practicable.
