LD PUMPED Nd∶YVO 4/KTP/BBO FREQUENCY QUADRUPLED ULTRA VIOLET LASER

This paper,for the first time in China,demonstrates frequency quadrupling in an LD pumped solid state laser using potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) and beta barium borate (β BBO) With common planar planar cavity,the slope efficiency of one end pumping lasing of Nd∶YVO 4 is as high as 55 68% An intra cavity frequency doubled green laser with Ⅱ type phase matched of KTP has been experimentally demonstrated The highest green laser output power is 1 35W,obtained at 11 85W of pump power,corresponding to an optical optical conversion of 11 4% Resonance effects in the ring resonant external cavity of the fundamental and of the second harmonic are derived Using a β BBO crystal the ultra violet laser is generated
