THE MUTAGENESIS OF THIOBACILLUS FERROOXIDANS BY He Ne LASER,ULTRA VIOLET AND THE BREEDING OF ARSENATE TOLERANT MUTANT

A mutagenesis method suitable to the properties of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans was studied:Many times of mutagenesis with low dosage was done on the iron free cell suspension After a lot of UV and He Ne laser irradiation, as well as the treatment of acclimation,it is finally selected the superior strain S x,which is Arsenate tolerant It can grow well in the enviorment of 11g/L As 2O 3,compared with the original strain,which can only survive in the 0 7g/L As 2O 3,the adaptability of S x was improved by nearly 14 7 times It is also had a leaching experiment on the new strain The result is encouraging Its ability to leach is good Given the same inoculation of 10%,the time for mineral to be leached was one day ealier What′s more,the Arsenata leaching ratio was increased from 76% to 85 7%
