A study on potential damage of hearing function in hyperlipoidemia

Objective To explore the primary damage feature and audiological characterstic of hearing damage in hyperlipidemia patients. Methods 19 cases of normal subjects (NCG), 22 cases of hyperlipidemia patients without hearing loss (DG) and 20 cases of hyperlipidemia patients with hearing loss (PCG) were detected with ABR, MLR, 40HzAERP and DPOAE respectively. Results ABR revealed that the latencies and interval peak latencies (IPL) of DG and PCG were prolonged than NCG. The III?V wave in DG under 60dB was significantly different from NCG( P 0.05), but no statistical difference in Na, Pa. 40HzAERP revealed an increasing tendency in threshold values of DG. DPOAE revealed that amplitudes of DG were lower than NCG, as compared with DG. The decreasing of 1kHz, 8kHz was significantly in PCG( P 0.05). Conclusion The hyperlipidemia patients without objectively hearing loss, in fact, auditory changes exist early in acoustic system.
