Objective To investigate the constituents of saponins from Anemarrhena asphodeloides absorbed into rat serum after oral administration. Methods Serum was collected after oral administration of 2.6 g/kg saponins from Anemarrhena asphodeloides to rats. The sample was detected by ESI-MS. Results A total of two characteristic HPLC peaks in the TIC chromatograms were found based on comparing total ion chromatograms of the blank with the metalolic serum as well as mass spectra. Conclusion Timosaponin B-Ⅱ and timosaponin B-Ⅲ were absorbed into serum after oral administration of saponins from Anemarrhena asphdeloides.
