Objective To compare the effects of sevoflurane inhalation with propofol intravenous target-controlled infusion during general anesthesia induction. Methods 40 patients under general anesthesia was randomly divided into group sevoflurane and group propofol. Anesthesia induction with midazolam 0.05mg/kg and fentanyl 4μg/kg intravenous infused sequence, and then inhaled sevoflurane in group sevoflurane with concentration of 8%,or target-controlled infused(TCI) in group propofol with concentration of 2 μg/ml,then attacurium 0.4mg/kg intravenous infused, endotracheal intubation was done 3min later. The heart rate(HR) and the mean arterial pressure (MAP) were recorded at before intubation, intubation and 3min after intubation. Results The value of MAP and HR in the two groups had no obvious difference at the basic value and the value before and 3min after the intubation (P0.05). After the general anesthesia induction, the value of the MAP and HR in the group sevoflurane and the group propofol were lower than the basic value (P0.05) and were back to the basic value levels at 3min after induction. Conclusion Sevoflurane and propofol can similarly induce smoothly and depress cardiovascular response effectively when intubation.
