Numerical simulation on temperature field of gas metal arc welding

Numerical simulation model for gas metal arc weding was developed,in which a double ellipsoid heat source mode was adopted and enthalpy of droplet was uniformly distributed over a special area of the molten pool.Transient variations of temperature field and molten pool geometry were predicted and verified.It is found that the calculated width and depth of molten pool are in agreement with the experimental ones.
