Study on Synthesis of CTS-Fe(Ⅲ) Complex and Its Catalytic Performance for Phenol Hydroxylation

Complex of chitosan(CTS) and Fe(Ⅲ)was prepared by Fe3+ solution and chitosan,and the influence of reaction time,pH value,reaction temperature and Fe3+ content on the preparation were discussed.The optimized synthetic conditions of CTS-Fe(Ⅲ) were obtained as follows:3% of Fe3+ solution and 1.0 g CTS reacted at 65℃ for 6 h with pH value of 1.8.Under above conditions,the highest Fe3+ adsorption amount was 75 mg·g-1.The structure of CTS-Fe(Ⅲ) was characterized by XRD,FTIR and SEM.When the prepared CTS-Fe(Ⅲ) complex was utilized to catalyze phenol hydroxylation reaction under the following conditions:the mass ratio of catalyst to phenol was 1∶100,the molar ratio of phenol to H2O2 was 1∶2,the reaction temperature was 60℃ and the reaction time was 4 h,the maximum conversion rate of phenol reached 22.88%,and the maximum selectivity reached 99.67%.
