Effect of Alkaline Ozonation Pretreatment on Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Rice Straw

Alkaline ozonation pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis of rice straw were performed.The content change of hemicellulose,cellulose,lignin during the pretreatment were studied.Alkaline ozonation pretreatment was evaluated for conversion of rice straw hemicellulose and cellulose to reducing sugar.The results showed that alkaline ozonation pretreatment was propitious to enzymatic saccharification of rice straw.There was not much difference at the content change of lignin and the degradation of lignin between alkaline ozonation pretreatment and alkaline pretreatment.But alkaline ozonation pretreatment was better than alkaline pretreatment at the enzymatic saccharification of pretreated rice straw.The maximum yield of reducing sugars from rice straw pretreated by alkaline ozonation(2%NaOH)through enzymatic saccharification(45℃,pH value 5.0,120 h)using 31.2 mg enzyme per gram of substrate was 902 mg per gram of pretreated rice straw.The rate of enzymatic saccharification was 92.57%.
