Genetic Improvement of Main Agronomic Characters of Summer Millet Varieties Approved by Hebei Province

The genetic improvement for main agronomic traits of 43 summer millet varieties approved by Hebei Crop Variety Examination Committee during 1975-2009 were analyzed using inverted sequence analysis.The results showed that the main characters that were propitious for increasing yield,such as spike weight,spike length and 1 000 grain weight were positive ameliorated tendency with ages process,and the inverted sequence rate were 93%,80% and 80%,respectively.The percentage of shelling debcreased obviously,while the growth period,grain weight per spike,plant height,crude fat and crude protein changed little.
