ON MANAGEMENT OF BLACK LOCUST (Robinia pseudoacaciaL.) STANDS IN HEBEI MOUNTAINOUS REGION

The increament of height and diameter of black locust in the mo-utainous region is mainly concentrated in the first ten years, and it reaches quantitative maturity in twenty years. However,the timber is only up to small size. For the black locust in mountainous region the rotation age of ten years is recommended according to its growth pattern. The sprout regeneration of black locust is feasible.Tending and defining stem-number timely, retaining litter in the stands are the main measures to the stands easure the quick recovery and vigorous growth of the stands.
