EFFECT OF SOLUBLE SUGAR CONTENT IN

Malus micromalus ROOTS ON VA MYCORRHIZAL INFECTION Qi Guohui (Forestry College of Hebei Agricultural University, Baoding 071000) Ding Pinghai Chen Guilin Nie Lanchun (Department of Horticulture, Hebei Agricultural University, Baoding 071001)  
The effect of soluble sugar content in roots of Malus micromalus Mak. seedlings on VA mycorrhizal infection were studied with the methods of picking off leaves and girdling. The results show that the plant height and the fresh weight of roots and shoots were increased significantly by VA mycorrhizal inoculation. The treatments of picking off leaves and girdling decreased the soluble sugar content in roots,and the mycorrhizal infection rate decreased correspondingly.
