Variation of soil macroelements of diversified greenbelts in Beijing

Through on-spot soil sampling with the mountain soil sample as control,the content changes of total nitrogen(N),available phosphorus(P)and available potassium(K)in soil of seven different green spaces of Beijing were analyzed and simultaneously the calcium(Ca)and magnesium(Mg)contents in soil of 6green spaces except for the production space were studied.The results showed that the maximum average value of soil total N of mountain scenic forest was 1.73g/kg soil,which was remarkably higher than any of the other 6green spaces,but its soil available P(5.49mg/kg)and Ca(0.98%)were significantly lower than any of the other types.There were no significant differences in soil available K and Mg in different greenbelt types.Accordingly a suggestion is proposed by reducing the application of P and Ca fertilizers in urban green spaces when fertilizing.
