The Effect of Application of N Fertilizer on the Accumulation of Nitrate in Vegetables

Zhou Yimin Ren Shunrong Wang Zhengxiang(Soil and Fertilizer Institute, Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Tianjin)  
This paper deals with the effect of application of N fertilizer on the accumulation of nitrate in 6 green and root vegetables in vivo. The result of experiments shows that there is significiant positive correlation between amounts of N applying and the accumulation of nitrate in vegetables in vivo.Through the experiment of the relation of the amounts of N fertilizer applying and the yield of Chinese cabbage the reasonable amount of N fertilizer is suggested. It was also found that K fertilizer and P fertilizer, especially K, plays an important part in decreasing the accumulation of nitrate in the vegetables in vivo, by the experiment of combinating application of N, P, K fertilizer.
