Effect of Organic Manure on Availability of Nitrogen in Subsoil

Effect of manure and / or urea application on availability of nitrogen in Lou subsoil using soil-columns in lab was studied.It was shown that manure could markedly increase content of available nitrogen such as nitrate-and amino acid-nitrogen in 0~40cm soil horizons, and the main forms of nitrogen such as nitrate, amino acid and amino sugar migrated to the below soil columns under the leaching of deionized water, but effect of urea on availabity of nitrogen in subsoil was little. It was concluded that manure application could greatly increase content of available nitrogen not only in surface soil, but also in subsoil.
