Effect of N uptake characteristics and populational formation on the yield of dry seeded hybrid rice

Yang Deguang et al. (PLA agric.and Anl.Husb.Univ.,Changchun 130062,China)
The effect of N uptake characteristics, population formation on the yield of the dry seeded hybrid early rice were investigated. The results indicated that N uptake per plant was more than that of the paddy seeded in all the growth stages, especially in tillering stage.Leaf N content of dry seeded rice was 72% and it has more tillers. Its population formation was faster and maximum LAI was close to 7 0 under the common cultural condition. But its yield was only slightly higher over paddy seeded rice.In addition, some factors which affect high yield was also discussed in this paper.
