Effects of greenbelt on levels of heavy metals in roadside soils

Xu Yongronget al. (Research Center for Eco- environmental Science,CAS,Beijing 100085,China)
This paper studied Pb.Cu and Zn concentration in roadside soil of National highway 316.The results showed: (1 )The mean values of concentration of Pb,Cu,Zn within 0-150m were:double - greenbeltsingle- greenbeltnon-greenbelt.The range of heavy pollution behind greenbelt was smaller than that behind non-greenbelt. (2)Pb,Cu,Zn levels in roadside soils decreased when the distance from highway increased. The concentration of Zn decreased very significantly. (3)there were also correlation among the concentrations of Pb,Zn and Cu. There was very significant correlation between Cu and Zn.
