Isolation and Characterization of One Bacterial Strain Tolerated High Concentrations Metal Ions

A strain tolerated heavy metals with high concentrations, named CD-02, has been isolated from the sewage sludge samples collected in Wuhan Steel Factory. Through the observation of morphological, a series of physiological-biochemical experiments and 16S rDNA sequence analysis, strain CD-02 was identified as Pseudomonas putida. P. putida CD-02 exhibited extraordinary resistance to a large spectrum of divalent metals, and MTCs of seven divalent metal ions used in this work all exceeded 5 mmol·L-1,so strain CD-02 could be a very suitable strain for researching the metal-resistant mechanisms of bacteria.
