Influence of TiO_2 Nanosol on the Physiological Characteristics and Environmental Effects of Alocasia macrorrhiza under Urban Air Pollution Conditions

The effects of TiO2 sol nanocomposite on air pollution purification capacity and stress physiological parameters of urban landscape plant Alocasia macrorrhiza(Linn.) Schott were studied.The results showed that A.macrorrhiza could purify the urban off-gases pollution to some extent.TiO2 sol nanocomposite treatment could enhance the air pollution purification capacity of plant.Meanwhile,nanocomposite treatment could enrich the leaf chlorophyll content,reduce cytoplasm membrane permeability,decrease lipid peroxidation of membranes under polluted conditions,and therefore improve the stress resistance.Under the stress of air pollution,the midday depression of photosynthesis of leaf aggrawated.The daily average net photosynthetic rate(Pn),stomatal conductance(Gs) and transpiration rate(Tr) were all decreased significantly;while intercellular CO2 concentration(Ci) was increased.By treated with TiO2 sol nanocomposite(0.2%~0.8%),Pn,Gs and Tr were increased at different extent;while Ci was decreased,especially in the treatment of 0.4% TiO2 sol nanocomposite.The interaction mechanism of photocatalyst and phytocatalyst on air pollution purification was preliminary discussed.
