Effects of N management on growth and yield of vegetable soybean

Gan Yinbo (Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Wuhan 430064)  
A field experiment which consists two vegetable soyhean genotypes was conducted. The results showed that a starter N of urea 25kg/hm 2 was insufficient for maximizing plant growth and yield only before sowing. Urea top dressing of 50kg/hm 2 at flowering stage or seed formation stage, both varieties obtained highest biomass and yield, the effect to early ripening varieties was more significant. Too much N application before flowering had no significant effect on marketable pod yield.
