Formation of Unique Comic Style of David Lodge——Interpretation of The British Museum is Falling Down

The article is to analyze the comic style of David Lodge’s novel The British Museum is Falling Down based on an exploration of the theory of Carnivalization developed by Russian Theorist Mikhail Bakhtin. It revealed David Lodge’s understanding of comic nature of literature and the particular way they were realized in the novel. From two aspects of theory and practice the article explained the formation of the unique comic style of David Lodge.
