Finite Element Analysis on Metal Structure of Hoist

Using finite element method,this paper analyzes whether the bidirectional portal hoist can meet itself strength,stiffness and stability requirements on the premise of lightening the steel structure weight.By particularly analyzing various working conditions of the bidirectional portal hoist,the SHELL63 elastic shell element model was created by use of the software ANSYS,then the connection,restriction and load of the metal structure were processed effectively and the stress and deformation of various working conditions were calculated rigorously. The results proved that the strength,stiffness and stability of the hoist metal structure were all less than the admissible and met the requirements.
