EPON primary technology and prospect

Cao Xiangfeng (UTStarcom Telecom CO.,Ltd,Hangzhou 310053)  
Due to its natural high bandwidth and long distance performance of passive optical network,PON will become the best resolution of last mile issue.This article made some analysis and research about EPON primary technology,such as ONU auto discovery,ONU distance detect,dynamic bandwidth allocation.This article also give some future prospect about next generation PON technology,10G-EPON and WDM-PON.
