The system design and implementation of skin cancer detection

Early diagnosis of skin cancer is in increasing demand in the medical field. The research of skin cancer detection is of important significance and application value. The proposed skin cancer detection system included mainly four function modules,which were image preprocessing module, feature extraction module, the establishment module of estimation model and model prediction module. Firstly, the desired input images were gained via the image preprocessing techniques, including image denoising and image segmentation. Next, the features were extracted using ABCD rule in the Interactive Atlas of Dermoscopy.Then, the model of learning was constructed using Neural Network Toolbox. Finally, the established model can output detection classification results when the test data is poured into the system. The simulation results show that the accuracy of the system is 88.71%. The proposed system has the advantages of high recognition rate and strong applicability.
