SURGICAL TREATMENT OF THE ESOPHAGEAL FOREIGN BODY

Ping yumin Du Xiqun Wang Dezhi Department of Thoracic Surgery, Fourth Affiliated Hospital  
85 patients with the esophageal foreign body were treated. The foreign bodies were removed successfully through the esophagotomy in 8 of 85 cases. The perforation of the esophagus oecurred in 15 cases, with an incidence of 17.6%. The diagnosis and the management for complications of the esophageal foreign bodies were discussed. The operative indications and new surgical technic were suggested.
