EFFECT OF NOURISHING YIN AND ANTITOXIC CAPSULE Ⅱ ON OXIDATIVE INJURY BY X-RAY IRRADIATION IN RATS

CHEN Ru,SHI Heng-jun,HOU Ying (Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Tangdu Hospital of Fourth Military Medical University,Xi'An 710038,China)
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Nourishing yin and antitoxic capsule Ⅱ((YCⅡ)) on the oxidative injury caused by Xray radiation.MethodsThirty adult SD rats were randomly divided into three groups, with ten rats each group: the normal group(A),the radiation group(B),the treatment group(C).The rats in group B and C were exposed to X-ray radiation at a dose of 6 Gy.The rats of C group were treated by intragastric administration YCⅡ.The level of serum malondialdehyde(MDA),activity of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD),activity of serum catalase(CAT) and total antioxidative capacity(T-AOC) were measured.WBC number was counted to evaluate whether the rat model was successfully established.ResultsSerum MDA of group B was obviously increased accompanied by obviously attenuated SOD,CAT activity, the level of T-AOC and WBC number after irradiation(P(0.01)) as compared with that of group A;YCⅡ can increase SOD,CAT activity, the level of T-AOC and WBC number(P(0.01)) and degrade the level of MDA of rats with X-ray irradiation comparing with that of group B(P(0.01)).ConclusionYCⅡ can improve antioxidative capacity and decrease oxidative injury induced by X-ray irradiation in rats.
