Objective To investigate and compare the clinical anesthesia efficacy of sevoflurane or isoflurane combined with remifentanil for the patients undergoing intracranial operations. Methods Thirty-six patients undergoing elective intracranial surgery were randomly divided into two groups: group S(sevoflurane combined with remifentanil, n=18) and group I (isoflurane combined with remifentanil,n=18). During the time before anesthesia (T0), anesthesia induced period(T1), fur skin cut (T2), 1h after duramater opened (T3), 2h after duramater opened (T4) and respiration recovery (T5), the SP,DP, HR, BIS scores were recorded. The time from stopping inhalation anesthesia to breathing recovery was recorded. Results The hemodynamic status of all the patients were little influenced by sevoflurane in group S or isoflurane in group I. There was a significant diference in the time of breathing recovery between group S and group I.Conclusion The sevoflurane combined with remifentanil given by continuous target controlled infusion can hold hemodynamics stabilization in patients undergoing intracranial operations according to bispectral index. After the operation is completed, the patients is waken up by using sevoflurane easily. Thus, sevoflurane is quite suitable for anesthesia during craniotomy.
