Effects of Chongcaodihuang syrupus on anti-hypoxia capacity and anti-fatigue in mice

Objective To study the effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine Chongcaodihuang(CCDH)syrupus on anti-hypoxia capacity and anti-fatigue in mice.Methods The mice were randomly divided into 2 experimental groups and control group,the dosages of CCDH in the experimental groups were 7.5 g/(kg·d) and 1.5 g/(kg·d) respectively.The mice were orally administered through a stomach tube once a day for 12 days,the survival times of ordinary pressure hypoxia,loaded swimming in normal mice,the plasma lactic acid level and serum urea content in post-activated mice were measured in CCDH groups and control group.Results The survival time under the condition of ordinary pressure hypoxia were significantly prolonged by 76% and 46%,loaded swimming were significantly prolonged by 40% and 34% respectively,and the level of lactic acid decreased by 29% and 15% respectively,the content of serum urea decreased by 26% and 20% respectively in mice of CCDH-treated group.Conclusion CCDH can prolong survival times of ordinary pressure hypoxia,loaded swimming in normal mice and decrease the plasma lactic acid level and serum urea content in post-activated mice,the results suggest that CCDH has anti-hypoxia capacity and anti-fatigue effects in mice.
