Protective effects of Huadu capsule on adenine-induced chronic renal failure in mice

Objective To investigate the protective effects of Huadu capsule on renal function and renal pathological changes of chronic renal failure (CRF) induced by adenine in mice.Methods 40 Kunming mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:normal control group,model control group,high dose (1.2 g/kg) Huadu capsule group and low dose (0.6 g/kg) Huadu capsule groups.CRF was induced by oral administration of adenine (250 mg/kg) in mice.After establishment of model,mourse in high dose Huadu capsule groups were administrated with Huadu Capsule,normal control and model control groups were administrated with saline.The protective effects of Huadu capsule were observed by detection of renal function and pathology of renal tissue.Results The levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinin (SCR) in model group were higher than those in normal group (P0.05),Huadu capsule could reversed the elevated levels of BUN and SCR (P0.05;P0.01),improve the changes in pathology of renal tissue in CRF mice.Conclusion Huadu capsule can remarkably alleviate adenine-induced CRF in mice.
