Improvement on the Synthesis of 1,4-Dihydropyridine Derivatives

1,4-Dihydropyridine derivatives(1a~1d) were synthesized by improved Hantzsch reaction of aromatic aldehyde, ethyl acetoacetate and NH4HCO3 in a closed system filled with nitrogen gas under refluxing. The structures were confirmed by 1H NMR, IR and elemental analysis. The crystal structure of 1b was determined by XRD.
