Research on Grease of Railway Freight Wagon Brake Regulator

In order to meet the requirement of continuous and effective lubrication for railway freight wagon brake regulator,the grease of railway freight wagon brake regulator was studied. According to the working conditions of the railway freight wagon brake regulator,the technical indexes of the grease for railway freight wagon brake regulator were worked out. Through the screening of base Stocks,thickeners and additives,it was determined that the brake regulator grease consisted of blended base oils(refined mineral oil + synthetic hydrocarbon + synthetic ester),12-hydroxy lithium stearate soap thickener,2.0% phosphate anti-wear/extreme pressure additive,1.5% phenyl-alpha-naphthalene amine antioxidant and 1.0% phosphate antirust and corrosion inhibitor. The drop point of the brake regulator grease was 201 ℃,evaporation loss was 3.0%,apparent viscosity was 968 Pa·s(-50 ℃,10 s~(-1)),and an oxidative pressure drop was 0.030 MPa(99 ℃,100 h,0.780 MPa). The development goal was achieved. Practical application showed that the researched lubricating grease could meet the lubricating requirements of railway freight wagon brake regulator. The monthly consumption of lubricating grease had decreased by 44.4%,and the comprehensive benefit had exceeded 600 000 Yuan RMB per year.(Charts2 Tables7 References7)
