Optimization and Screening of Transmission Lubricants by High-Frequency Reciprocating Rig

The gaskets in the automobile transmission system would cause wear,and the worn gaskets would cause the abnormal noise and gear release of the transmission system. Therefore,the requirement of anti-wear gaskets for the lubricants used in the transmission system was put forward. The causes of gasket wear were analyzed. The wear resistance of transmission lubricating oil could be evaluated by transmission rig test. However,it was not suitable for optimization and screening of transmission lubricant formulation because of its high cost and long cycle. The correlation between worn scar area of high-frequency reciprocating rig and gasket wear of transmission rig test was investigated. It was found that the worn scar area was positively correlated with the gaskets wear. The worn scar area of gaskets was small and the gaskets wear was small. Therefore,high-frequency reciprocating rig could be used to indirectly evaluate the anti-gasket wear performance of transmission lubricating oil. This was of great reference value and guidance to the formulation optimization and screening of transmission lubricants,and could greatly improve the formulation optimization and screening efficiency of transmission lubricants.(Charts10 Tables3 Reference1)
